Smash Drive Vol Control

Hi There,

Very new to this so apologies in advance for the inevitable stupid questions...!

So, my first project is the Smash Drive, have etched the PCB from gen guitar gadgets page : http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_smash_drive_pcb.pdf & http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/smashdrive_lo.gif

however made my parts list with the intention of putting in the 500k Volume pot from the original schem: http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/schems/smashdrive.gif and would like to incorporate it. If anyone could give me a heads up of where to put it in i'd greatly appreciate it, especially as i got a bit ahead of myself and drilled out a hole in the intended housing for it already...!(what can i say, i was eager to get going but my compontents hadn't turned up yet)

Referring to the GGG gif layout:

-Disconnect the orange wire from the 3PDT switch.
-Connect that end to lug 3 of the 500k volume pot.
-Connect lug 2 of the pot to the lug on the switch that the orange wire was previously connected to.
-Connect lug 1 of the pot to ground (anything that is connected to one of the black wires that are connected to the board)

If you want the 500k resistor (from the diystompboxes link) included too, connect that between lug 3 of the pot and the orange wire.

It may help you to draw in the new part(s) on the layout, and how you will wire them. Also, converting from the schematic to layout yourself would be good practice for understanding both.
