Hey, about to order a tonepad pcb, and I just had a couple quick questions I wonder if anyone had the answer to.

1.  Are the holes for capacitors spaced for use with box caps?

2.  Are the holes for the pots spaced such that it would be possible to use 16mm pcb mounted pots.

If anyone knows I'd really appreciate the info before I order.  Thanks!

Based on my experience, yes and yes.

However, I don't know if box cap sizes are standard or not, so YMMV :)

Heemis - sorry, I don't know the answer for sure (I think the answer is "yes" in both cases) - but if you print out the tonepad pdf file, make sure you've got your printer settings on "exact size" or whatever, you should be able to hold your components up to the printout to verify.

Ah, good idea jefe... I'll do that.  Thanks guys.

If memory serves, in some instances Francisco provides dual cap spacings.  That can be confusing sometimes in that you find yourself with one more pad than you think you need, but that's what it's for.

That's right, I've seen that before on some PCBs I've worked with... a great idea.  Anyone have a definite answer on the pots?  I don't actually have those components in hand, so I'd like to try and be sure before I order them.

jacobyjd

absolutely yes on the pots. It was the caps I wasn't sure about.

Fantastic, thanks again everyone.

For the pots, most are spaced for 16mm mounted pots, but there are a few that are spaced tighter
