hello, i just finished my SCR, this morning finally.

it is pretty cool but when i hit 6th or 5th strings, the reverb gets really mushy. i dont really know how to describe it. it's like no sustain..almost like too much bass and killing the reverb effect or something...kinda like vercro sound.

so just decreasing the bass signal before going into the tank will help it?

if so, which value for which cap/resistor?

thanx always!!!

i just decreased C4 and it helped but it is still too much reverb or somehting. overwhelming.

im gonna try to change values on C6 now and see...

i lowered c4 til 5600pf. and it sounds excellent!!

Years ago I picked up a solid-state Gibson amp from the late 60's or early 70's.  The reverb was awful-sounding and way too obvious.  I traced thepath back from the input jack of the reverb pan to a cap that was functionally identical to C4 in the SCR, and lowered it to taste, just like you did.  The reverb came alive and became the sort of thing one could enjoy using.

Kudos on your resourcefulness!
