im planning on making "toggle switch with inverter gates".
On that great explication about electronic switching using logic gates, i have a couple of questions since ive never worked with cmos stuff:

-I will have to use the vcc and ground pins on both ics, right? despite the control voltage being fed by the switch.
-Should the 4049 be UBE or Buffered?, how about the 4066?. If so, why?

Yes you will need to connect the Vcc and ground pins.

It should not matter if the 4049 is buffered or not but I suppose buffered would  be prefered. The 4066 only comes in buffered versions.

thx for answering tone god :P, and should i ground unused pins on both the inverter and the 4006? only the inputs? only the outputs? both?

No prob.

Ground the inputs only on both. Leave the outputs unconnected.
