There are two trim pots in my big chrome Morley PWB. According to the schematic one is in the boost circuit and the other is in the wah circuit. When either of these is engaged I get no output if I turn either of the trim pots all the way down, but after the point where the pedal produces output they seem to have no effect. What are they for and is there an optimal setting?

Looks like they bias the transistors. I'd Just adjust them until it sounds good and leave it at that.

They sound pretty much the same throughout the range (except for what I assume is 0% and maybe some added hiss at 100%). Should I err "low" or "high"? Is either better for the internal components?

I guess it probably doesn't matter. The thing is like forty years old and it functions. I've definitely twisted those pots all over the place over the last eleven years with no (perceived) ill effects.
