I am building a Tonepad Tonebender (3 knob): http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=117
I do not want to use power adapter seeing as it is reverse polarity and i want to minimize the possibility of plugging it in with a shared power source.

I basically wired it like this (as opposed to the offboard wiring from Tonepad (page 5): http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=76) :

Bypass works, but the circuit doesn't seem to have power going through it (the LED doesn't work either).
Am I wiring it wrong (this is my first 'attempt' at not following exact instructions)?

you cannot break the connection between the jack shield and ground, and you can't wire an LED for positive power when using negative power, or it won't work. wire it up first with no LED. build it exactly as wired on the tonepad diagram first, just connecting the battery and no led. then work your way up.
