I was wondering (since alot of you here have made many different pedals), which pedal you think is close to the Brown sound? I have made the BSIAB2, and to me it isn't as close as I thouhgt it would be (but a great pedal!).

I am thinking of building the Shaka Express, because the sound clip I heard sounds close.

Thanks

yup.. shaka looks close..
try boosting your bsiab.. :icon_razz:

I would think it would have to be a combo of amp and pedal (and guitar). The Shaka Express is too hi-gain I think for that sound.

I still think that the original BSIAB sounds great. Especially with a higher output humbucker.

Thanks!!

I am using a Peavey Transfex 208s amp (solid state), and a Schecter C-6 guitar. Has (2) Dimarzio humbuckers.

I want to try to get the Pinnacle 2 pedal tone. And Brian described it as a BSIAB (ish) circuit into a BMP tone stack, into a twin t variable filter (contour). Anyone have a diagram for a twin t?

So you think the Shaka Express is to much? The sound clip I heard on (ampage) sounds close. Do you have anymore sound clips for this pedal?

Thanks again!!!

OK, now here is a stripped down Shaka Express (2 stages, not 3), kind of a Shaka HV with one more stage. I like the sound of single FET stages as they seem to react "faster". This pedal was recorded with the exact same settings as the BSIAB2 demo I provided earlier. (Same guitar)

I like it! I will make the Shaka Express, and maybe set up a switch to turn on or off the last stage.? I saw this example on the Texas Brownie.

Does anyone have the schematic for the BSIAB (not BSIAB2)?

Thanks!!

Daniel,
Do you feel your DUI is more Brown than the Texas Brownie?

after the twin t, it goes into another jfet gain stage. I also did a version that had a baxandall instead of the bmp tonestack

can anyone tell me what is the diffrence between  bsiab1  and bsiab2 tonaly

caspercody

Hey Brian, thanks for repling! Yeah I forgot to add that it goes into a Jfet booster, thanks. Can I ask you some questions about your Pinnacle, I am planning on putting together a pedal based on your ideas here (for my use only!)

1. Is it based on the BSIAB or BSIAB2 design? Or the mu-amp design in your advanced book?

2. I found a schematic for the twin T varaible, but it is a op-amp based is that what you use? And what is the frequency?

3. I have a Jfet boost schematic you sent me for the Plextortion, is this close to the same you used for the Pinnacle?

4. Is the new one the BMP and twin t, or another tone stack?

5. Will you made this into a tone clone pedal?

Thanks
Rob
