Hey guys,

The new mxr pedals use these 3pdt footswitches that are a bit smaller then the ones most of us use. They're total junk, unfortunately the way they construct the pedals the average sized switch won't fit. Anyway, I been getting mxr pedals in for repair that need their footswitches replaced and I was hoping that someone know where to get them.

Thanks,
Alan

What pedals does Dunlop use 3PDT switches in?  I thought they only used DPDT switches.

There 14 dollars at tubesandmore.com

I don't see any footswitches that cost $14. The switch shown at the top of the list of footswitches, which costs $4.25, looks right but they don't give any dimensions. Are they the ones you were refering to?

type mxr in the search box
Yeah, I went back and found the ones you were referring to. Those are the ones used in the old dunlop/mxr pedals, way too big. Thanks anyway, I think I'll email them and ask for the dimensions of the ones I saw in my initial search on that site.

I'm not 100% sure but the DPDT Alpha's that smallbear sells seem very close

I bought a couple of those a while back.  Decent switch.  Small footprint.

Those are cool. I haven't seen those before.  :icon_razz:

just opened up my stock MXR D+ and the switch looks identical to the Smallbear one. It even says Alpha!

To be sure, email Steve. He probably carries them as replacements, since he carries many other Dunlop/MXR replacement parts.

Yeah, those ones that Small Bear carrys look like they'll work. I actually just got another mxr pedal (dist +) in yesterday that needs the footswitch replaced. Crazy. Thanks alot guys.

Those small footprint ones are just what you need if you have any interest in 1590A builds.

I am catching up on business after being on vacation in Alaska for a couple of weeks. We had a lunch date with ex-governor Palin that was cancelled...her staff said that she had child-care issues.

Ahem...A number of shops have been using the PCB-mount version of the Alpha DPDT stomper. I have long carried the solder-term part. Have order the PCB version and will have it in mid-autumn.

Can anyone confirm if this part works as a drop-in replacement for MXR pedals like the Micro Amp?

Thanks.

spaceace76

that one is exactly the same, except that it has solder terminals in stead of PC mount pins. if you read smallbears post he mentions that he'll have them available mid-autum (2009), meaning he's got the drop-in replacements now

http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=955

you can always email them to be sure

Haha, somehow I completely missed that post from Small Bear! Thanks for clearing it up, anyway!
