Hey, this was my first complete DIY guitar pedal, and it seemed fun to put it in an altoids box. Its a copy of the DOD 250 overdrive/Distorcion +.

Hope you like it.

I decided to go for a 3pdt switch and avoid the battery space. I added a 9v input and the option for the battery. In case i need it i can use it from outside the box. The LED is quite usefull too, and i liked how the imput/output jacks looked from the sides.

Kind of messy on the inside, but works perfectly

think the photos didn't upload well. not sure how to upload them though. someone help?

Hi Agustin,

To have a photo show up in your post, you need to have the picture uploaded/stored on a website such as Photobucket. You then put the link for the photo, from the storage site (eg. Photobucket), in your post here.

...and welcome to the show

My local components vendor had some 1/2 size Altoid-like boxes that I bought, that were really too small for pedal builds and full size connectors.
Anyway, I put an EM-drive inside one of those.

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

garcho

^ probably! somebody like that anyway. someone here has a stronger, more effective one. i think there's some cooling fan that fits a common plastic exhaust pipe, so you can route it out the window. that's for next summer  :P

Here's a mini-Altoids box (with a regular one for comparison):

Much too small to fit any jacks.  There are 2 holes with grommets on the side for wiring, and these jacks will be external.  The lithium battery fits inside.

The holes for the pots are not exactly lined up, 'cause I eyeballed the drilling.  Oh well, I'll do it better next time.

It's finished except for the wiring.  Two pots, a DPDT switch for true bypass, a charger board for the lithium battery (bottom left), a booster board to triple the battery voltage (top left), and the actual effect (right).
The lithium battery charger has a USB port that pokes through a hole on the left, so once it's wired, I won't need to open it again.

What is it? - a silicon Harmonic Percolator.  I love this circuit.  There are a couple extra (unfilled) pads for the diodes, but I prefer it without them anyway.

I love looking at the stuff you guys do...I don't get how you drill the holes out on such flimsy metal.  This last one with a tube blows me away!  Now I'm thinking about an Altoids Valvecaster...

For me- very carefully with a piece of wood to back up the metal when punching and drilling so I don't dent the surrounding metal. Also, the use of nice fat washers helps hide flaws. ;)

rutabaga bob if you liked the hybrid amp, you need to see Sijosae's work!

These guy makes headphone amps, but it inspired me to make the ruby tuby. A valvecaster would be nice too!

Thanks for the link - that's nice work!
