LED indicator rings for rotary encoders?

I know there has to be more available, but all I've found thus far are these from Top Up in Taiwan, and most of the data sheets are blank since I don't have the Chinese language packs installed for Adobe Reader.  So much gear these days uses the indicator rings - and not just teeny LEDS mounted to the board with individual holes for each one - so there must be some out there...right?

now *that's* funky!

This is the only one I know about, from Conrad Electronic. I think it's a German firm, but they've now got a UK webshop. Maybe they have other international sites too.
It's not just the ring, but the encoder too. Pity they're so damn expensive...

The Nord ones are nice...

The reason for that was:
I think how they do it is they make a plastic case to house a bunch of discrete (mini-rectangle in this case) LEDs. Other companies most likely do similar things. It's cheaper.

Ah, but the one from Conrad is made by Alps - and that's pretty easy to track down.  Having scoured their data sheets quite a bit, I'm surprised I hadn't seen that kind of thing til now.  Since my original post, I did come across LEDtronics, which makes a crescent bar-graph array, but so far they're the only ones I've found that make something like that.  More practical that the TOP-UP ones, but minimum quantity is 100, and unlike Alps, other companies don't carry them.
