i'm thinking about building one of these, but it seems kinda hard as no one's done it yet that i know of. i heard that if you mixed a boss oc-2 with the armstrong green ringer, you'd be there. i can't find a pcb layout for the boss oc-2, though, and i can't make one. would the rocktave divider be a good substitute?

I think I heard someone saying the rocktave is the best sounding octaver out there (I can't help imagining this last part from the voice of the old electro harmonix demo guy)
Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.

The Rocktave is very good, to be sure.  But Mutron products are generally a cut above their contemporaries.  I have not heard one of their octave dividers, so I may be talking through my hat, but those who know them crave them.

At some point, I imagine, we'll find a workable clone project.

my intention was to nail that "hey, hey, my, my" neil young sound. if that helps.

There are some historical, partial attempts at cloning this pedal, but a lot of it is buried in archive threads and there's not much to go on.

The spec of the FoxRox Octron seems interestingly similar to MuTron Octave Divider, even in appearance, but I've never compared schematics.

There are a lot of great octavers on this forum, the Mutron has always been a fascination for me as its one of hte only Mutron pedals I've never even heard in person (yet) - I love Mutron pedals.
