Hey Gaussmarkov Gator clone builders:

I seem to have this thing up and running, including full bypass footswitch. I would also like to add the secondary footswitch, specced as a momentary switch.

I see SW1 marked on the parts diagram, but not SW2 . Also, which lug on my momentary footswitch is 1, and which is 2?

any help greatly appreciated!

for those of you who omitted the trigger input on this project: it sounds really sick with drums triggering the gate! you are missing out!  ;)

If a switch only has two lugs, then it does NOT matter which is which; assign 1 and 2 at random. The main thing is don't put wire 1 and wire 2 on the same lug.

Many PCB momentary SPST switches have 4 pins. Use your ohmeter or test-light to find which ones are always connected (one electrical lug but two legs for mechanical PCB mounting).

Thanks! Mine has two lugs and is the smallbear type seen often on this forum.

I was about to link to the Gaussmarkov page in this post when I noticed what threw me off. The pcb image on the main page, here:

http://gaussmarkov.net/wordpress/circuits/gator-clone/

...shows wires 1 and 2 of the momentary switch, numerically indicated. HOWEVER, the downloadable project pdf does not mark both pads. This threw me off, though it probably shouldn't have! I had printed this out and was using that diagram only. Good thing I went back to Gaussmarkov's site!

Issue resolved!
