I read on GGG about the LXH2 speaker sim lite and that it should not be placed between your amp and speakers. I am thinking of building the LXH2 fender amp sim. I play into a Peavey 208s SS amp, into a 4x12 Peavey cabinet. I do not plan on plugging into a mixer, headphone amp, or computer.

So, my question is are speaker cab sims for plugging into a mixer, headphone amp, or computer only? And that a speaker sim should NOT be used though a guitar amp?

The speaker sim exists to emulate a speaker so you can record or play into a mixer and get the sound of an amp with a speaker without having an actual speaker and putting out sound. You can also use it to go from a line-out on your amp into a sound board without mic'ing up the cab.

Since you are running your amp into a cab there is no reason to use a sim. If you just want your amp to sound different, that's a whole other problem with different solutions. I'm thinking that what you're looking for is an EQ pedal.
