Anyone got a recommendation of where to get axial elec caps 2.2uF and 20uF, they are silly money on ebay.......and bitsbox. rapid and maplin dont stock them.

Ha ha!!

I just PM'd you the same question, only about non-elec!!

Banzai are good, postage not extortionate, I will be putting an order in at the weekend, so I can add some stuff in for you if you like?

;D Im just not not down with paying ebay prices any more!

Rapid have 2u2 = 2.2uF here and 22uF which is practically the same as 20uF given the tolerances of electro caps.

Or there's plenty better options if you go with radial caps instead. Personally I'd go with a film cap for the 2u2 unless there's some specific reason for wanting an electro.

Thank for the links Ian, they are for a vintage fuzz face.....and I'm all about MOJO on this one.

You can't do mojo on the cheap.  Well, not on demand, anyway.

Mallory mustard cap 2.2uf  costs 4 Eur
Spargue Atom electro 25uf  costs 2 Eur.

Do it!

How many are you looking for?  I've got a few of each (well 22uF) and I've also got a SAE coming to you so I'm sure I must owe you a few bits.  :icon_wink:

Just been trying to explain you cant do MOJO on a budget to the girlfriend........then she caught me out with the old "will it make a difference to the sound"

Think I can sneak a order in this weekend without her knowing ;)

and, don't know which pedal you want to build but I bought this type of electrolytic for a rangemaster clone, as well as mallory 0.005µF (which are white, not yellow, even 0.01µF are white, don't know about 2.2µF though...)

assuming the 20µF was electrolytic...

Thanks ericohman, looks like banzai is the best bet unless something pops up on ebay.......just hate paying £6 postage for a small bag of caps!  :icon_mad:

(oh and it for a BC108 fuzz face....so its quite flexible, as they seem to have used what ever they could get there hands on.....still trying to find out if there was ever an definitive parts list)

markeebee

I'm ordering some booty from Banzai today/tomorrow/asap - want me to add anything for you? If I just stick them in the normal post to you, your carriage = £0.

Not trying to be pushy, more like neighbourly  ;D
