So i decided to build a Doug Hammond sweet 16 pedal. I'm using the layouts below

im putting in the GGG charge pump to get it to about 17 volts

I only have 2 questions.  for the charge pump, could i mount the max1044 ic directly to the board or should i socket it?
And for the sweet 16, can i used a 3pdt switch instead of a dpdt switch. That way i could wire a on/off LED.

I post a video later after to show the build and a demo

You can solder the ic to the board; sockets are nice if you have one though.  Just solder quickly and allow a little time to cool  beween each leg.  You can use a dpdt with led.
