Pedal board friendly Q-tron

As a fan of Tim Mahoney of 311, I loooove his Q-tron sound and can copy it easity with my own EHX Q-tron. Only issue is the thing is MASSIVE and worse it runs on its own 24 VDC power supply. I would really like to sell it and build a similar pedal that runs on 9-12 VDC, and uses an optocoupler for the envelope. I dont need the LP BP HP Mic whatever modes just a low pass mode to get "amber" or "chanpagne" tones.

Anyone have any suggestions of projects or pedals I should look at??? Thanks!

Howzabout the Mini-Qtron? 9V supply, and I've got a perf layout that fits (snugly) into a 125B, if yer interested.

The DOD FX-25 filter ( http://topopiccione.atspace.com/PJ11DODfx25.html ) can be easily converted from bandpass to lowpass.  I did the conversion for a box I made for a bass player friend, and with a little extra resonance, that things rocks.  Easily built into a 1590B, and it runs off battery or +9v.
