Tremulus Lune (tonepad) vactrol orientation

can someone tell me the correct orientation of the VTL5C2 vactrol for the tonepad tremulus.?
I'm trying to debug it here and its got me stumped until I noticed another post which suggested the vactrol should be installed with the writing faced down.
I've currently got it with the writing up and the angled corner in the top left as you look down on it.
I presumed the + just need to be on the left, but is it specific to one of the 4 corners?

The + on the vactrol marks the anode of the LED. The image below shows what this means, the layout doc from tonepad shows which way the LED needs to be connected on the pcb.

here's the post I saw.
the OP's voltages and symptoms are similar to mine which is why I thought it might be this.

if I understand you correctly, the left side of the vactrol is made up of the led (+ and -) and the right side is the ldr.
so the vactrol must be installed 'upside down' with the writing facing the board?

on the pcb, the + is on the top left.
on the vactrol its on the bottom left.

ok I tried it and it works.
not very intuitive, but its my own fault for not checking more closely Iguess.
