Electronics Tutorial Recommendations

I'm pretty good at building these projects, but I don't understand that concepts behind them that well.  Can anyone recommend some tutorial sites?  I understand the basics of how eleectronics components work, just not how the design of a effect works.  Thanks.

Try Paul Falstad's circuit sim, shows how some filters work, how signal passes through transistors, etc. and you can even try your own circuits in it. JKowalski's put a tutorial on here too!
