Hi there, does anyone know where i could get these transformers and chokes for the soldano SLO 100.

was hoping to build a clone of it but it seems like i cant get the transformers for it in the UK and they seem like the most expensive

part of the build.

would be great if anyone could advise me or recommend any equivalent transformers to use.

thanks

or in europe for that matter. just thinking about postage and that

What sort of transformers does it need? Bit hard to say where you might be able to get them if we don't know what they are :)

Rick 'Perf Boy Extraordinaire' Central usually lists this site as a good place to pick up transformers in the U.K. http://www.bluebellaudio.com/
www.ampmaker.com Also stocks a few Transformers that might be okay.

sorry

the spec is 230v pri, 360-0-360v sec with 400ma but it has other things for the powering the heaters etc.

someone posted this on a website with the specs of the transformer choke and output transformer but its all in italian as

the transformers are italian made or bought from there or somthing like that. http://www.inmadout.com/download/pdf/setSLO100.pdf

soldano slo 100 someone elses build http://www.davideanastasia.com/guitar/jekyll-hyde-slo100-diary/

theres some schematics dotting around somewhere but some are not so clear

so if anyone can find similar closer to the uk i would be greatful.

KH602

cheers for the links.

isnt there away i could use a transformer that has 230v pri 360-0-360v sec then connect another transfromer some how to power the heaters and things for the tubes and then find a 100watt output transformer

rather than buying specialist parts from the US. I only know a place that sells transformers specific to the soldano slo 100 amp. just trying to save money thats all

Yes you could use a separate 6V transformer for the heaters etc.

KH602

yea i thought you could. do you know where i can get hold of a transformer that will power the amp then? any ideas? doesnt have to power all tubes plates and heaters, dont mind buying more transformers if its going to cost less.

here is the link to the schematic by the way with the transformer specs on etc.

Tube Amp Doctor in Germany does an official replacement SLO100 power transformer  for 149 Euro, no idea what the shipping would be.
Bringing you yesterday's technology tomorrow.

KH602

nice one! i dont mind ordering from germany especially from thomann.de they dont mess around with shipping and its fast

oh and its 17.50 euros ups to the UK or 22.50 DHL to UK if anyone wants to know what the shipping prices. obviously it will be more the bigger the product possibly

Lots of the UK supplies in the links I posted have suitable transformers. I suggest you actually look at them. You know, do some work...

KH602

yeah i know i have been through quite a few. but theres no need to be like that jeez

I don't think he was trying to be harsh, merely advising the fact alot of people expect free work done on these forums and that he had given advice that provided a suitable outcome, some respect on each side is needed and typed word cannot convey emotion so don't take it to heart and i'm sure a pleasent solution can come out  :)

no probs. i do put a lot of effort and research in to things so i dont exacly take things for granted. its given me more of an insite to what am looking for though as i searched google high and low before i posted on here. i am definitly wanting to build a 100watt valve head at some point like the soldano or peavey 5105/6505 something with the same tones and things but am guessing its not easy to clone
