IC Buffer Input jack problem

First post here - hello everyone. This should be an easy answer, though at the moment I don't know it.

Built the GGG IC Buffer last night - works wells, looks great (like a gold brick) with a nice green LED. The problem I have encountered is that it will only pass the signal with the input cable pulled halfway out - ie, no signal when pushed all the way forward, great signal when pull halfway out. I can't have pictures until later, but it has to be a misplaced wire somewhere on the jack me thinks.

Just from looking at it again and looking at another photo (with location and names pointing to the appropriate places) I think I mis-wired the input jack. I think I made the TIP the sleeve and the sleeve the ring -- sound about right?
