If I'm not mistaken, the Fulltone Ultimate Octave is less picky to careful biasing as a Fuzz Face (and alike).  Therefore, I was wondering if adding a "starve" knob (variable resistor on the +9V to simulate a dying battery) would still be a useful addition to this fuzz.  I don't use the high/low switch at all, and would consider replacing this with a starve knob if this can give me a broader range of fuzz types (e.g. more gated, raspy fuzz types).

Any thoughts?

Well , I can't answer directly your question with a yes or a no.....but

I build this  http://www.beavisaudio.com/projects/DBS/   in an Hammond A size

so I can test ,if I really need a sag simulator for any of my pedals.
