Transistor tester - .01uf or .1uf cap?

Makes no difference.

1uFd would flicker (and cost more).

Under 0.001uFd would run so fast that -some- old-old-old Germanium devices would not respond.

Look behind your bench or under your chair for ANYthing between 0.5u and 0.005u (5n).
