Hi Everybody !

Finally, i've finished my gristleizer from smashing guitars, and it works well, and i'm loving this effect... So i decided to buy another pcb, but this one come from Taylor Livingstone.

I think its unit will be easier to build than the smashing guitars one, but it also seems to be different for adding cv's mods.

Would somebody here have already done this mod ? I've read that i should look after the depth pot, or near a 10uf cap marked optional on the pcb, but if i do that, i would need to add a buffer for cv incoming...

Could someone help me with these informations ?

Thanks for any response, tricks... i just want to learn how to do this !!
Cheers !

Taylor

What do you want to control with CV? It would be different for different controls.

Ah !

I'd like to know if i could interract with the lfo ( controlling it with a cv in, for exemple), and adding an lfo out to the gristleizer ?

As i've bought two pcbs, i'd like them to interract each over !!!

( As i'm writting it, i'm looking after the smashing guitars gristleizer cv mods, ans i'm surprise do see that they don't precisely explain from where do their cvs ins & outs come, and what these cvs affect...  ???)

i was wondering the same. i got the fuzzdog poodlepedalparts grisleizer pcb but it dosent have the cvs that i wanted on it. thats one thing about buying effects pcbs they never have cv's. i also want to add anothe cv to my ada flanger clone and use these 2 in conjunction but dont know how to add cvs to the gristleizer or ada

Glad I'm not the only one to bump a 5 year old thread...
I've just bought a fuzzdog Gristleizer too! It works great (despite a high pitched whistling which isn't really all that audible) but I'd like to add CV control and interface with a Korg MS20 synth. Anyone know how?

i also get that high itch sqeual. i want to add cv for range to my ada flanger also. i already have manual cv. how do i add cv for range?? i would love for my grisleizer to be connected with ada flanger,  moogerfoogers,  dreadbox ,pigtronix via cvs. from the videos ive watched it looks like all these CVs from these different companies are compatible which im excited about the possibilites

If it helps anyone - the part number for the charge pump IC made a hell of a difference.

There are several 7660S available. I have tried 7660SCPAZ V15084P and the V15284P.

The V15284P is noisy, the V15084P is silent. Hope this helps  8)

Hello there. Did you manage to build a Gristleizer with CV I/O? I'm also interested in doing so, but would can't go down the EAR Eurorack path.
Cheers

(the .pdf available via the MusicPCB site)

I found the following quote regarding modding a Gristleizer:
"The positive pad of the optional 10uf de-tick cap is a likely spot from which to take the
LFO, if adding an LFO out. Another spot to try would be the center pad of the depth pot.
These spots would also be good starting points for adding voltage control inputs
."

I'm using the FuzzDog kit with the following schematic - http://pedalparts.co.uk/docs/Gristleiser.pdf
The FuzzDog schematic doesn't have a 10uf de-tick capacitor (that I can see), although there is a depth pot, of course. So, can I use the middle tab of the depth pot to hook up some LFO I/O as the above paragraph mentions?
How might I do this?
How can it be used as an in and an out?

Many thanks!

I used two switching mono jack sockets for in and out based on the same spot. It went

Depth Pot lug 2 -> socket 1 -> socket 2 -> rest of circuit

When you plugged a jack in socket 1, the switch would cut it off from the rest of the circuit (the VCA and VCF) so you could take depth out and use the LFO for something else.

When you plugged a jack in socket 2, the switch would cut the LFO off from the rest of the circuit, allowing you to inject your own LFO/CV whatever. You couldn't use the depth knob though. There's probably a way around this.
