it feels like it cleaned up the effect alot, but the tremolo doesnt work still :(

is there something wrong with my FET?  Maybe got burned out when i had the voltage regulator reversed?

Your IC voltages look good now. You have 5V on Pin 1 and around 2.5V on the applicable pins of the PT chip. You also have LFO fluxuation on all of the applicable pins of the IC.

Your FET definitely looks suspect. You may have fried it.  :o

Recomend you replace it.

At least it looks like you didn't burn up the 2399...  ;D

i bought 5 2399's from tayda just in case.

i only have 1 more J201, so i hope thats the problem!

Seeing as you have 0V on both the Source and the Drain, I am inclined to say that it is either a bad FET or bad components/traces around the FET.

i dunno what it was, but i removed it and socketed it, put in my other j201, and found the tremolo.  switched back to my old one, and now its working too lol. 

so i think its time to find an enclosure and get this thing wrapped up :D :D
