hey guys, so finally set myself 'round this idea finally. I have a morley PWA from 1992, and it clicks each time i engage the switch (on/off). it's really loud. I am thinking it's the switch getting old but idk... it wasn't tehre really by then i remember (about 4 years that i have it, it started ticking at around 2008-9) so i doubt they wouldnt put a pull down resistor but i can try those actually, just thought may be you could give some more advice on that before i get in?

Theres a possibility it could be the input cap gone bad, not seen a schematic so can't tell for sure.

yeah i was thinking if the caps could be dead by now?

i can't really find a schematic in their weibsite, it just says PWA. there's one PWA SS in 1992-1998 section but mine has only one IC and it's a TL071. and it says Rev 3. 10/28/92. nothing like that in their website, only the Silent switching. I know the switching aint true bypass

thats the one i use for the light wah...apart from a 6.8k on the out...

might be the 220uf?...just a guess though!....

that's cool Rob, what's your opinion on this thing?

hmm that 220uF seems to be a power filter cap, could it cause any clicks if it was dead?
also with my noise unfiltered adapter it won't have that DC hum so i'm guessing it's still fine?

its a good wah...i changed my 2.2nf for a 4.7n to get more growl though..when kicked back..

not sure on your problem though.

could be the switch?...dunno for sure though dude!...

4.7n and more growl? mmm what do you mean by growl exactly?

yeah im thinking the switch could be involved but i have no other switch to try out...

i have it on breadboard at the moment..

the 2.2n was a bit too tinny imo when clean...

the 4.7n just made it a bit better for distortion leads to me......a matter of taste though!..

hmm might try taping another 2.2n there, wil get about 4.4 n right? wonder how it'll sound. my wah sometimes doesnt go well with some distortion...
