I haven't had much luck with Jfet distortions, but Mosfets seem to like me.  I favor  multistage distortions. The Obsidian and Box of Rock are 2 of my favorites.  This http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=83692.msg695798#msg695798 got me thinking about boosting things even further with a Mu/Syrpp stage and working with Jfets again.

Adding a Jfet stage between two Mosfets stages adds some fatness/warmth/squish and smooths things out a little.  The Mu stage makes up for the lose of gain from the Jfet.  The BMP tone control can create many different EQ curves (use the Duncan Tonestack Calculator if you haven't tried it, very cool).  2 Jfets and 2 Mosfets.  This is what is currently on the breadboard.  ;)

ayayay!

That looks like fun!  Try a 25k on that BMP in the TSC.  ;)
