Long story short, I have a distortion pedal that stop working a few months ago, that when engaged the sound
would cut off.  I had checked the battery and there were no loose connection anywhere.

Decided to replace the IC chip and sound came back, sound is good but the overall volume of the pedal has diminished
alot and have to turn the volume up pretty high on the pedal.  Pretty sure I put in a compatible chip, any suggestions
what might have cause the volume loss.

Thanks,

you'll have to give details to get a good answer....

ikk, don't forget to clean the hammer when your done smashing bugs !
Chipchange may have exacerbated the issue, audio probe and meter readings can tell if a chip-in-circuit is operational, especially true if the circuit is known or there is a schematic.

Sorry I haven't post in a while, but I have long since fixed the problem. it was a bad solder connection.

Pedal Works Great!

Thanks,
