BSR58 vs SST201

Long debated issue ,
can the BSR58 be used in place of a SST201  ?  :P

The SST201 (surface mount J201) has a lower Vgs(off) and Idss than the BSR58. This means that the SST201 can be used at higher gains in normal common source stages. The BSR58's Idss is much higher than that of most of the JFETs we use, which would make it difficult to bias to substitute for the SST201.
