After having to delay it for a while due to an annoying shoulder injury, I finally started and successfully completed my first project, a simplified version of the beavis board (http://www.beavisaudio.com/bboard/).

I decided to omit (at least for the time being) the circuit breaker switch, leaving me with in and out jacks, psu plug, voltage sag and four leads to the terminal strip: +9v, ground, send and return.

I wired the circuit following Gaussmarkov's layout (http://gaussmarkov.net/wordpress/thoughts/wiring-up-a-1590b/) and tested it this morning by wiring in the Danelectro French Toast I'm planning to rehouse. Worked a treat first go! A non-step for anyone else, a giant step for me I suppose...!

Though not a complex project I thought it'd be a great introduction to the soldering, wiring and fiddling to come, not to mention a very useful and handy tool for any future breadboarding I will do.

Here are a few photos of it (albeit not brilliant ones):

I understand such a simple build might not be of interest to most on here, but after all the wait I just felt like sharing the joy!  :icon_biggrin:

Not true. Every experience shared here is a step for all. Remember, the learning curve is never ending. That applies to everyone.

Enjoy your new project, and feel free to share anytime.  :icon_cool:

You know, I have always been curious what the Wizard Dino's test box looks like....  I'm re-building my crappy old one. Looking for ideas.
