Can I use a Mono jack as the input if I'm powering via adapter only (no battery)

I understand that the stereo jack is used to shutdown the power to preserve battery life but I never use batteries, so was wondering if I can just use a mono and a 9v DC socket?

Hi vince,

I often use 2 x mono's for builds, particularly if i have no intention of adding a battery or there's no room for a battery.  It's also a good idea to use mono's for tight builds like 1590a builds.  If you do add a stereo jack, you can always add the battery snap down the track as well.

Yes, I'm a little more experienced now so I just wire everything with mono jacks.. as I never use batteries it makes things a lot easier and as you said, neater
