I don't know if they are really called cupcake knobs, but I have seen them on numerous pedals.

These ones are heavier duty too. They are amp knobs and are way more sturdy than the Davies type knobs. I havent stripped one yet!

"Cupcake Knobs" can, perhaps, have other connotations.
