« on: April 13, 2012, 03:55:22 AM »
my first post:
can anyone explain why this is so LOUD without any of the typical fuzzy/screaming/stuttering distortion?

j201

It's supposed to be loud - it's a booster! You might want to put a volume control on the end.

It's not fuzzy because there aren't any clipping diodes, which would also limit the signal and make it less loud.
- Guitar built from parts
- Random strings to make a full set
- Any pick that I can find on the floor
- Some pedals that I built
- My all-tube amp head that I built out of parts in my spares box
- Cheap Marshall 4x12 with better speakers fitted

The music world seems to be a three-way race between the princess and the pea, the blind men and the elephant, and the emperor's new clothes.

Pls note also: there's only ONE gain stage since the second stage is unity gain follower.

Whilst it looks like one, I don't think it is....it looks like a boost to me.
