Wah with LDR question

I'm looking to build a wah from R.G's technology of the wah page and I think I have a layout that'll work. I'll escape the wah pot by using an LDR instead. What I don't know is if the LDR should be in light or shadow when the pedal is "up".

Yes, I know. What I really wanted to know is how the wah pot corresponds to the wah pedal "location".

When I push the pedal "forward", should the wiper be closer to ground or further from ground?

shadow = up.....(kicked back)

or use the darklight to have it opposite...or even adjustable...

This oughta be pretty kewl... Not sure how you're implementing the system, but if you want ideas, I posted pics of my wah in the 1590A thread. My wood wah (in the lounge) uses a different goofy light trap, but I'm not sure if I got pics of that part yet. You making your own treadle, or using something new or gutted (question mark... Silly qwerty keyboard won't insert one).
