How to reduce 12 v to 9 v?
« on: April 15, 2012, 12:54:56 PM »

I've made framus cobra preamp, with FETs and Im running it with 12v power supply. I would like to put ROG's condor cab simulator in the same box, but condor requires 9v. Any advice?

use a 10v 1 watt zener diode with a 100 ohm resistor..very simple..makes a great voltage regulator....

A 78L09 provide regulated 9V without wasting as much power as a zener.

Go read geofex.com.

In this case, Power Supplies Basics (http://geofex.com/Article_Folders/Power-supplies/powersup.htm), from 2001.

What *was* the media thinking? Did they really believe that only the Second Amendment would be suppressed for political convenience? There are all those other pesky limitations on power to be dealt with, too.
