I have a question about transistor Hfe and placement in a r-comp.   I'm wondering if there will be any overall benefit from placing certain Hfes levels at specific transistor spots in the circuit?   At one point I think I read that one of the boutique Ross-like comp makers say they place a matched transistor pair somewhere in their circuit...perhaps it was Keeley.

I went through my current bunch of 2n5088s and picked out 5 that have relatively the same Hfe levels: 347, 354, 355, 360, 360.  I happen to have a matched pair, so...

My thinking was to:
-The pair of Hfe 360s in Q2&Q4 (since the output is taped from Q2 emitter & Q4 base)
–Hfe 355 at Q5
-Hfe 354 at Q3
-Hfe 347 at Q1

Anyone out there with suggestions or advice?
