Ok, found this. looks like they made a working layout. Also, if you go to page 1 there are sound samples of each one. It's all in Spanish but hey, that's what google translator is good for :icon_wink:

What is up with those Mosfet stages???  ;)

Good question, but I am about to find out! :icon_rolleyes: What do you think? I value your opinion big time!

I'm interested to hear what they sound like.  Are they supposed to be more tublike?  That seems to be the motive for most of the unusual Russian stuff.  I'll try them if I can get the right resistor values.  Did you see my post about Mu-Amps and diodes?  ;)

that ruskie stuff is the nuts.... :icon_cool:

well worth a few breadboard sessions for sure!... :icon_twisted:

@wgtp: yeah i clocked that mu amp stuff...from what i remember reading it was best to have a source resistor/ cap in the end iirc...

Here are the sound clips..

Sound pretty damn good to me! I think I saw your post about Mu-Amps and diodes... but I didn't bookmark it :icon_frown: You can post it again if you wouldn't mind?

Rob: I am really into the sound of the AMT stuff as you know... I think these designs come from the same Russian forums where Victor K hangs out!?
I see you were pretty active in the original post and it looked like Brymus bailed at the end huh? This stuff is really the best sounding pedals I have heard to date! I built the B1 and I love that thing... sounds better than my retail P1 pedal!!

@jim:

yeah dunno what happened to brymus, ahhh so you built the B1, from that schematic?...cool...clips?.

that ruskie stuff is defo worth breading man, i must get round to it one day...arghhhh i need more breadboards. :D

EDIT: i like that ENGL3...nice.. i like em all, but that sounds a bit warmer.. :icon_twisted:

Rob - Yeah, I built the B1 and it worked first time I fired it up... changed a few values in the tone stack and now it is my main pedal/preamp... So many tweaks you can do to these things and they all seem very similar!  Still no luck with the cab simulation but all of the of the pedal schematics seem to work good! That damn cab sim is pissin me off!  :icon_evil:

I will try to record a couple sound clips tonight.. won't be anything special just my 7 string and me chuggin/palm mute and maybe a couple leads... B1 sounds REALLY heavy!! :icon_twisted:

cool, look forward to em.. :icon_twisted:

yeah dunno why the cab sim part isn't having it!...especially as the rest is ok...weird!..

i'm still pondering on that sim lark!.. ::)

Here is the B1 schematic I used... I used J201's for all because that is all I had, but works great so..? Simple build as compared to the S1 or the P1.

Edit: I used 20k trimmers for the 3 drain resistors - the two 8k and one 10.5k.... not sure what they read because I adjusted them by ear.

deadastronaut

cool, yeah best off using trims imo....nice easy build!.. :icon_cool:

hows the tonestack seem?...

was a little bass heavy but VERY wide range on the treb and mids... the treb-mid-bass seem to interact with each other. I tried 33k resistor and a 220pF for the treble with two 22n for the bass and mid... sounds good also!! Tone stack is great on this pedal anyway... Seems like all of the AMT pedals have about the same tone stack.

Rob... have you seen this version of the BSIAB X2? Probably have just checking :icon_wink:

yep, thats what the spitfire was based on......wgtp and walt put me onto that!... ;)...those ruskies know there stuff when it comes to distortion!.. :icon_twisted:

just been listening to B1 clips/vids, i'll have to give this one a go i think!!..nice!. :icon_twisted:

those diodes look mad.... :)

Yeah, I wasn't a real big Bogner/Hafler nut but this B1 is killer! The videos don't do it justice!

By the way, I found this which is leading me to believe that there may be a misread part in the cab sim on the legend pedals? I could be wrong though...

Here's another one..

they look interesting....especially the switchable version... :icon_cool:

btw just made a layout for the AMT B1... ;) for when i eventually get round to it... ::)

if anyone wants the pdf's/pcb/layout to try/verify it, i'll post em up ok.....checked all looks ok. ;)

as a note:

i was reading that the B1 should be used through a send return, correct?...so it uses the power amp only i guess, and not the amps pre-amp/eq!...

makes sense to me..  i only use a clean channel of my marshall anyway...but i'd be interested to try that!...just for kicks.. :icon_twisted:

have you tred yours that way?
