Was having a conversation today about the best way to do something a little extreme, have a muff with a switch that would select between 2 sets of transistors.

I was thinking a 12PDT Latching Changeover Push-Push Switch (if they even make them!) may work, but would love to hear other peoples thoughts on here.

You can probably use some relays for that. You can drive a DPDT relay with one transistor, I used a couple for some channel switching once with something like this:

Actually, think about a transistor as being 2 diodes. If you look at an NPN, one diode (Base to Emitter) is forward biased. The other (Base to Collector) is reversed biased. All you should need is a 4PDT to switch the sets of Emitters between "IN" and pulled to V+ to reverse bias both diode junctions. Then you're only left with the leakage of the reverse bias. Not really sure if it would work, but in theory it makes sense.  ;D
Give a man Fuzz, and he'll jam for a day... teach a man how to make a Fuzz and he'll never jam again!

You could use multiple 2P2T relays.

At some point it makes a lot more sense to build two Muffs and a simple A/B switch.

I pulled a 27P4T rotary switch out of a KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switch found in the recycling bin, and another massive switch from a printer switch.

They make rotary switches that are 12+DT, but they are usually pretty expensive and usually have many tiers, like:

if you haven't seen em, I had em in my last garage sale (#30, 51, 52)

Have you sold them all?

No, I still have those 3. I try to update right when something goes, so the last post in the thread should be up to date. #29 and 3 others from an older list are gone, but I think there are a few more I haven't listed yet...
