I am having a hell of a time figuring out the right words to search for on Google or on here. I have a rackmount delay (Electra EP-401) that has a jack for a bypass switch, but I don't have the actual switch. Does anyone know where to find a schematic for one? I'm stumped.

Thanks!

Usually, such footswitch jacks assume that the external switch will simply ground a connection.  The unanswered question is whether the grounding only needs to be momentary, or must be latched.

You can do the experiment by plugging a stereo plug into the jack, without the cover on it, and simply experiment with the various connection types, starting with momentayr connection of hot/tip to ground, followed by holding hot to ground, hot to ring, etc., and keeping track of the state of the rack effect.

Ah yes, just the answer I was looking for.

Thanks, Mark!!
