I am building a treble booster and want to incorportate trimpots in the place of the fixed 3.9K and 68K resistors so I can dial in the right bias point.  Are there particular trimpot types or brands that offer the lower-noise benefits that a fixed metal film resistor would offer?  or are all trimpots essentially the same, noise-wise, as a carbon film resistor?

Use the 10-cent trim pots. Find your happy bias. Take the trims out, measure, replace with nearest metal-magic fixed resistors.
