light up knobs

i have two clear davies style knobs. i was thinking they would look cool if they let up. has anyone done this before or have any ideas on the best way?

I've never used them, but they look really cool.
I think you have to stick a 3mm LED inside them, don't you?
Does anyone know of ones that will take a 5mm LED?

I have seen images of someone who drilled through the shaft of a regular 16mm alpha pot out to the back and stuk in an led...

I didn't take a pic of how I lit them, and I totally should have.  I used (2) 3mm clear blue LEDs.  They fit loosely in the shaft, and you can't glue them because then the LEDs will turn with the pot, putting strain on the leads/wires.  So I floated them inside, bending the leads at 90 degree angles and using those to support the LED inside the shaft.  The leads are sturdy enough that they won't bend or break.
