Useful video. Clarified me a lot of things.

I still miss 3dpt stomp... i bought it on eBay but it doesn't arrive yet :-\

hook it up with a battery , jacks,  attach all grounds...and you'll be able to test to see if its working ok..

better to test it outside the box and make sure it  works before putting it all in there only to have to pull it all out after... ;)

should have trimmed your pcb too... ;)

Looks much better. At this point I usually use isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) and a toothbrush and remove the residual flux.  If you decide to trim the board, I would do the alcohol clean before and after trimming. The dust from the board will stick to the flux and make a mess. Trim the board outside and make sure the dust is being blown away from you (I use a fan). Wear eye protection.:o

I tried to connect it, but i have some issues:
- I don't know where i have to connect ground, the wiring scheme suggest me to connect it to input jack sleeve, but if i do i have no output sound.
- when i connect the battery, i have no real distortion, but when i just disconnected the sound is great (for few seconds).

wire all grounds together...including input/output(jack ) grounds....battery ground too...

then tip in...tip out...

connect battery+  should be ok...

make sure you are connecting grounds to grounds...not input/output tips..

check battery ...

http://db.tt/gWNVQ1pV i connected in this way:
shields together, ground (the only one) to shields, Input tip to Input, Output to Output tip, battery - to input ring, battery + to board +.
I didn't have any sound.

Nothing to do if i connect PCB ground with others it doesn't work... if i disconnect it it partially works (the sound is not so good and pots do nothing).

Is it better now?

is that bottom right solder joint touching the outer (ground)  trace?...

No i just tested it with multimeter and there is no contact...

Is it possible that you still don't have the jack lugs properly identified?  Run a jumper between what you think the tip lugs are to simulate bypass mode and see if you get a clean signal.  If it doesn't, then you still need to sort out the jack connections.

I tried to connect them and it worked... i can't understand what is my error...

Jdansti

Can you post a photo of the other side of the board an an image of the layout? It might help to have another set of eyes to check for reversed components.

firstly,  have a cup of tea, take a deep breath, go for a relaxing walk, listen to some chilled music,

then..

pin 1 is where the dimple is ,  see that little half circle cutaway too?... ;)    this is why we use sockets!!!!.. ;D

don't worry we've all done it.....or worse... :icon_mrgreen:

i look forward to you shouting  ' yayyyyyyyyyy it works!!!!....'   :icon_cool:

Ahahahahahah i feeling stuuuupid xD i reverse it immediately ;-)

Jdansti

I can't believe you put that IC in backwards!  :icon_eek:  I don't know anyone who's done that!

OK, I lied.  :-\

I've done that and worse! :icon_redface:

Sometimes we look at our projects for so long that glaring errors become invisible. That's one reason that this forum exists. It helps to have other people look at things that we don't catch.  I'm in the middle of one now that some folks on the forum are looking at for me.

BTW, is C5 supposed to have a blackish marking on it, or did that happen during installation/testing?
