My take on a Univox Squarewave layout.
This thing originally used 2sc1312 and 2sk34c but it sounds great with a 2n5088 and a J201. To bring this to life it really needs to be tuned via emmiter and source resistors so temporarily using pots and then soldering in fixed resistors is the go. I build this a few years ago from the gallery layout but I found it has has several errors.

Just temporarily solder in two pots instead of the marked resistors, set @ ~1k and ~4k .
Twiddle till it sounds good/not gating etc. Measure, then replace with closest value resistors.
