you may want to search the forum for slacker's slacktave or merlinb's u-boat.

You wouldn't go wrong by adding the Krank Distortus Maximus to that list.
Add in a Rockbox Boiling Point
and a Brunetti Mercury Box too.  ;D

From what I can see, you need a loop selector, a regulated power supply, and maybe a noise gate.

Ludwig Phase II please. I`m getting close to finishing mine, but we need more builds to validate the PCB, build paper, tuning procedure, etc.

Then I would say, Ring Stinger. Just finished one recently, and it`s super-duper. You can find an updated build paper in the Gallery, under «Dino`s stuff». It`s version 1.3.

Cheers,

No. You will be in a happy place. But build the Phase II first  :icon_mrgreen:.

is it more difficult to setup trim pots on phase 2 than ada flanger?
is there a tutorial floating around?
is a scope required?

LucifersTrip

you don't have a single mean sounding vintage fuzz in that list...a Fuzzrite or variant is a great start

I've written a guide on tuning the Phase II, it's here; http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=94478.0

It also includes comments from Jimi, R.G. and Keppy. I used an oscilloscope and a DMM, but if you only have the DMM, you can get your voltages into the ballpark and tune the rest by ear to your liking. Besides, between Jimi and I, we have enough Youtube video material of the real ones to help you get the tone down. The oscilloscope is sweet when setting up the Counter mode though. From my experience, if the Counter mode is set right, everything else seems to fall into place.

Well, it uses a cool looking copper coil, and... uh... Sorry, I really don't know.    :-\

Edit:  Actually, might I suggest the Gaines noise gate? http://hammer.ampage.org/files/GainesNoiseGate.PDF

I really like mine.  The "key" feature is something you don't see a lot on DIY gates.

if nkt, i'm guessing Fuzz Face?...if so, it's the opposite of a Fuzzrite....not mean or dirty.

superferrite

Fuzzrite style box.  Really is a different beast than the fuzzface family.  I loves me the Shin-ei FY2, especially with a midscoop knob to give it a bit more usefulness.
