Hey folks,
A buddy wants me to build him an ABY but I do not want to go the RG Keen route with the transformers yet. I am having trouble finding a layout for a passive ABY box.
So far I have found these:

Any helpful hints or advice. The wiring seems different in each of them (I know one has a tuner out which is not needed I know) and I think I am too tired to process this right now haha.

Thanks team!

Do you want a passive splitter or, as the thread title says; "Want to build ABY with buffer"?

If passive, i don't see how you could go wrong with any of those 3.... (then again i'm also a little tired lol)

I just built a ABC box passive. Similar layout to what you have there, minus DC and LEDS. HUMS LIKE THE DICKENS! Totally unusable. Not to dissuade you, that layout will work fine. Just be prepared to wrangle some noise. I haven't had a chance to tinker with it anymore, but some suggestions were to star ground instead of series ground and use shielded cable.

I will point out that the design you have there is passive, save for the lights. To use buffers, an active design is necessary. Try one of the snippets on beavis audio http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/blocksfragments/. I don't have any experience with the best application - whether to a buffer on each input, the output, or all of the above. Should be easy enough to experiment with though, just whip one or two up on perfboard and get busy with the alligator clips

Why should you not have 90o angles? Do the electrons bunch up in the corners?

Thanks for the input guys. I am thinking we are just going to build him the BYOC amp selector. That way there should be no issues. Hopefully.......hahaha. I do plan on trying out one of these layouts though.
