Will this 7660 chip work in a voltage inverter circuit? I want to build (among other things) a buzzaround and I just discovered that voltage inverters exist (go ahead and pelt tomatoes at this n00b)! I would like to do my own pcb layout in diylc and would really like to include a voltage inverter in this, and hopefully all future positive ground builds.

Thanks!  :)

Why should you not have 90o angles? Do the electrons bunch up in the corners?

Frequency switching is 10kHz - it will whine. Use the 7660'S' varient which has a frequency boost feature.

I just built the Neutron and had some 7660epa on hand I ordered a while back and never used. Was my first time using a charge pump. It whines, not tooo bad but still its not what you wanna hear haha. Just etched a board for a tone bender mk2 with an onboard charge pump so I ordered the 7660SCPA and some 1044SCPA chips to test out in a few diff circuits.

I ran across the S series just recently when looking at the pdf for the charge pump over at madbeans site (which is an awesome site!) page 3 of the pdf they talk about the diff series of charge pump chips and what you should use.

I ordered my chips from mouser but here's the digikey link

I should get my order in by the end of the week they shipped today so ill let you know how quiet they are :D

Nice! Thanks everybody! I feel better about my investment into an ever-loving pile of russian GE trannys.
