Hi All,

The Return od The Plate Craze !

Here is my Tri-Ang VB449 dual overdrive.

The plate comes from an old variable transformer for model trains on the way to be trashed at the end of a flea market : too nice to let it go !

Features :
- one single central control for the output level.
- the right FSW is FX in/out (amber pilot upper).
- the left FSW is Blues/Rock : 2 overdrive presets (red pilot lower).
- 9V internal battery and/or ext. pwr.

Schematic and layout - the starting basis is the DOD250 RI "Yellow" :

great looking boxes - i really like your style!

tubelectron

Thanks artifus,

I suggest to replace the "Rock" serial attenuator 22K resistor with a 100K internal adjustable pot, in the case that your amp may need a different balance between blues and rock than mine. 22K is convenient with a SF Twin or Deluxe Reverb. Doing so, you may change the value of the "Rock" treble tamer 2n2 cap to maintain the same tone correction as they are somewhat interactive.

Your recycled box builds are fabulous, so retro-cool :icon_cool:

And your drawings of circuits are lovely too.

tubelectron

Thank you, Guys !

It's the only acceptable way that I found for the decorum of my stompboxes : the "Retro-Cool" style as you (kaycee) smartly named it (I will record it) is my "fave by default" (well, it could be worse !) but yes I must confess that I love it too...

Nonetheless, I always stay amazed and admirative seeing the "pictures" and "show me your 1590A" sections... Especially as I am definetly unable to compete with those remarkable finishes !
