I want to show you the latest schem for my dual delay design. This started here:

http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=98275.0

Dual PT2399 chips, assignable modulation, full set of controls for each delay chip, tails in bypass, serial or parallel switch, crossfeedback pot, dry out, wet only switch. Already breadboarded, working. The only thing I didn´t include in the breadboard is the switching FETs Q3, 4 and 5. The others (Q1, 2) work OK. So I guess the others should work also... bit of a gamble!

I already designed the PCB and etched it. Have to drill, assemble and test the full thing.

9 pots, 3 switches, footswitch, two LEDs. Oh lord, the wiring will be a nightmare! Something like 40 or 45 wires! Only for the brave.

Schem:

Well, tell me what do you think.Any obvious mistakes you see?  Audio clips soon.

You asked for it,you got it...

Damn, I can´t get the Soundcloud player to show!! I HATE Flash code and non friendly computer stuff!!!!

OK. The clip is a bit distorted, the audio card level was a bit too high. Always level controls at max, so no subtlety here. Directly from the breadboard. Guitar>FX>computer. Only series (or was it parallel?) connection. As you can hear, it´s a dirty atmosphere generator, more than a clean repeater. You can get normal delay sounds, but that´s not it´s forte.

love it, kinda like the echobase with another echo added...cool. :icon_cool:

I haven't had chance to have much of a look at the schematic, but it sounds great.

Morocotopo

Thanks guys. Been playing with it now that I have a bit of free time, I really like the atmospheric sounds I can get. Some are sort of a delay/verb mix. Very trippy and spacey. Yeahhhh maaaan... Im floatin´.....

The dual delay concept is really nice. Good work.
I sold my DL4 to upgrade to Eventide TimeFactor and the first thought I had was - it would be nice to make a nice dual delay project with PT2399. It looks like you've already done that.
However I would like to point out one thing. It seems to me that without tap tempo and delay time (1/4 note, tripplets, 1/8 note etc) it is not very usable at full band context.

Morocotopo

Thanks Crane. You can get triplet, eights, etc. the old fashioned way: turning knobs!

Tap tempo in a PT2399 delay is complicated to say the least. The complexity factor would go up too much. About the usability in a band context, sometimes delays NOT sinched to the song´s tempo are nice...
As I said, this is an ambience machine mostly, But it can do more "normal" delays also.

So how did this project go? Would you mind sharing the PCB?  :)
