Help me plan stupid expensive fuzz

Building pedals is getting in the way of my studying. I'm graduating college next semester and need to get myself together. As a gift for this abstinence, I'm going to build myself the most ridiculously mojoed out fuzz of all time. I really want to over do it parts wise, not circuit wise. Just an awesome classic fuzz. I've built good sounding fuzz faces and tone benders before but I want some unnecessary.

Any light people can shed on unusually fancy parts, NOS or not, would help.

Simply just wondering about parts. Are those Clarostat pots on Mouser that sell for $12 really fancy?

NOS knobs?

Considering a tagboard or turretboard, does anyone have layouts for any kind of Tone Bender? If not, I'll probably do vero.

Don't forget a super expensive finish.  Gold leaf?

You're onto something with the gold leaf.

And no, FuzzLab is not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for simple classic fuzz with unnecessary mojo, wedge enclosure, etc.

Sorry, I forgot some sort of smiley so you knew it was a joke, how about this one  ;)

I guess you'll also need some of these...

Was actually looking at those. All jokes aside I just want a really nice fuzz and I am curious about tagboard/turretboard layouts because I can't find any. Also looking for opinions/pic on pedalenclosures' Prism. It seems there are two similar ones with one being much wider than the other.

Lots of them here - http://www.turretboard.org/?cat=6
take your pick.

I've been here. Mostly looking for Tone Bender Mk1.5. Don't see either a tag or turret layout for it.

haveyouseenhim

wrap it in some kind of exotic animal skin or fur. Preferably something endangered :icon_twisted:   no, not really.

I sometimes wrap mine in rabbit fur or leather.  I have some traps set by the creek to catch a moccasin or a rattlesnake.

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

Dom D

I guess I'll do vero and a wedge enclosure from pedalenclosures.com and just get the fanciest stuff I can find.

Humboldts Finest

There are tonebender mullard mustard cap sets on eBay. Not the most expensive route, but tons of mojo

Dom D

Thanks for the advice. I've actually come across a lot of nice stuff on ebay for much less than I was expecting.  :-[

Forget ordinary knobs and go with vernier drives to get that amateur radio transmitter cachet:

Turns-counting knobs like these are also distinctive:

I have used DB-10 style knobs and nothing says 50's missile launch control console like them.  I have one on my Leader RLC bridge.

paper in oil caps? how about 20 bucks for a single 100N cap?

Now we're getting somewhere!  ;D

I like the Prism I enclosure. Crazy ass knobs I can slap on the front would be great!

Jazznoise

Why not make it multiband? That and it obviously needs a transformer loaded input!
