I've recently dug out my old DS-1... and when i say old, i mean i bought it 2 years ago, so its not Japanese... anyways, I've been looking through loads of pages of mods.... some contain a billion and 1 and others contain hardly any.... one thing I've noticed however, is that there are so many different ways to mod a DS-1 to get the same sound i.e. some people say change R16 to change your mids, whereas some say change R17, or C12 etc...

There are 3 things i want to know.....

1. Where about's on the PCB do you add a mid range knob, like the analogman DS-1, and what do you change....
2. How to add a footswitch to toggle between a distorted sound and an overdriven sound....

3. Why are there so many mods out there that are different, but generally give the same sound??

any reply will be most appreciated.

Check out the "Phlat" mod. The switch flattens the EQ from the standard scooped tone. Much nicer and more useful than a knob IMHO.
