Somebody has one for sale in town real cheap, and I was wondering how it gets the echo and tremolo. More to the point, I was wondering if there is anything in there that is easy to mod and worth modding.
I've got one - and it's a great little gadget.
Am not sure 'how' it does its thing, but it's worth having 'stock'... :icon_wink:
can you see the board?
i rehoused one with a coupla basic mods .
stock , no control for delay time , trimmer for trm rate .
removed smd resistor off pt2399 , chopped in a pot , remover trimmer for trem rate , chopped in another pot . put it in a larger cigar box with a 5 inch speaker .
love it . i used it today , matter of fact . i had ni-cad rechargables in it for a while . i also run this off of twelve volts often . surprisingly loud for 1.5 watts . would like to add a control to adjust the echo volume , its a bit quiet for MY taste but i use louder echo . also , making the trem go a bit faster and slower might be interesting but ...
i paid 25 for mine , i would twist your arm to get one , as long as you dont mind spending the time to rehouse it just use it as a head into a larger speaker . the stock 2 inchers are , well they are two inch speakers ... i pmed you a link to the video , , which i would recommend . i hit a bit of a snag there . its a bit long though , :icon_redface:
Well, I think I shall followup on the ad. Looks like an interesting base for mods, and the guy only wants $30 (no shipping involved).
I just hope he hasn't sold it yet.
Thanks for the input, Pete. Much appreciated. :icon_biggrin:
no problem mar
:)
i think you will enjoy it , hope to see what comes of it .

Apparently it is still available, but I won't have a chance to pick it up for a few days. Fingers crossed.
So I brought it home, and it's adorable. Wide range of sounds for something so tiny and minimalist. I'd like to move the tremolo rate to a chassis-mount pot, and tweak the delay for different delay times. Trouble is, I don't know how to get he darn board out of the box. Any tips? Given that the chassis is plastic, I'm reluctant to use force unless I know that's the spot and way to apply force.
the conclusion i came to is that it is somehow epoxyed around the pots . the finished product has both the mods you mention .
i realize its a bit long but i really do explain how i handled the rehouse l in the video, there is pretty good photo documentation of it .
Thanks I'll take a look at it. We're not supposed o use streamed media at work, so I save these things for home. Unfortunately, when I look at PMs I receive to see what's in them, that unbolds the PM header, and mental notes to folow up on a PM "once I get home" can blow away in the breeze. But I'm gonna kick back with the tablet tonight, and I may have some questions for you once I finish watching the videos. Thanks for the reminder.
apologies in advance for having to sit thru one of my videos .
you think i type too much , wait till you see what happens when i get in front of a camera !
